Couples Cards

Card #1 · Level 1
Appreciation in 5 Sentences
Available

This card is about letting appreciation be specific and spoken, not assumed.

Sit facing each other.
Each person will share five short sentences that all begin with:
“I appreciate that you…”

Focus on concrete things: small moments, little habits, ways your partner shows up.
No disclaimers, no jokes that undercut the compliment. Just clear appreciation.

Take turns. One person shares all five, then switch.
After each sentence, the listening partner simply breathes and lets it land. No need to say anything back.

End by holding hands (or a small physical gesture) for at least 20 seconds in silence.

Debrief prompts
  • Which appreciation landed the deepest for me?
  • Was it easier to give or receive appreciation? Why?
  • Did I feel any urge to downplay or dismiss what was said?
  • What did I realize I may not say out loud often enough?
  • What is one new thing I want to appreciate out loud this week?

Private debrief
This is visible only to you and your partner account.
