“What I’m Carrying” Check-In

This card helps you see what invisible weight each of you is carrying right now.

Sit somewhere comfortable.
Each of you takes a minute in silence to notice: How full or empty do I feel?

Then, one at a time, share:

“Right now, I’m carrying…” (name responsibilities, worries, thoughts)

“The part that feels heaviest is…”

“One way you could support me is…”

The other partner listens without interrupting. At the end, they can ask:
“Is there anything you want me to actually do, or is it enough that I just heard you?”

Debrief prompts
  • Did I learn something new about what my partner is holding right now?
  • Was it easier to name tasks or emotions?
  • How did it feel to ask directly for support?
  • What surprised me about what felt “heaviest” for me?
  • What small action can I take this week to lighten my partner’s load?
